The government of Peru has announced an ambitious plan to modernize six regional airports as part of a strategy to improve national connectivity, boost tourism, and strengthen the country’s role in global logistics.
Prime Minister Denisse Miralles confirmed that the project will advance through an addendum to an existing concession contract expected to be signed in the first half of 2026, unlocking US$454 million in infrastructure investment.
The modernization initiative will focus on airports in key destinations including:

These improvements are expected to significantly enhance infrastructure, runway conditions, and passenger services, creating stronger links between Peru’s regions and international markets.

The announcement was made during the IATA World Cargo Symposium 2026, hosted in Lima. The international event brought together leaders from the global air cargo and aviation industries.
Government representatives emphasized that Peru’s strategic geographic position allows it to serve as a logistics bridge between South America, North America, Europe, and Asia.
